🔒 Private · for the family
Fourteen clubs around Sant Gervasi, El Putxet, Tibidabo, Pedralbes and the Collserola slope — researched, cross-checked by a four-model council, and ranked for one real question: which single club actually works for a 5-year-old and both parents, year-round.
There is no single winner on paper — the top two split on a real trade-off. Because a newcomer family has no member network, the clubs that demand sponsors or six-figure shares drop off the practical shortlist regardless of how good they are. These two are both join-it-today clubs with everything the family wants; pick by what matters more: walking distance, or one place where both parents can train while the child is supervised.
The most turnkey "one-club" answer. Two heated pools (indoor + outdoor) + kids pool, 12 tennis, 12 pádel, big gym, luxury spa, and the decider: a daily crèche synced to the adult class timetable — so both parents can actually train at once. Free parking. No share, no sponsor.
The genuine Zona Alta family club, right on the Putxet slope. Indoor heated pool + dedicated kids pool (3 pools total), 7–8 clay tennis, 9 pádel, gym, spa, squash. Swim school takes ages 3–5; "Happy Workshop" for 5+; childcare to age 7. The most credible review base (4.4 / ~440).
Two things decide whether a club is realistic for this family, separate from how nice it is: can you actually join, and how trustworthy is the price. Every club below carries both labels.
A refundable share (Barcino) or a modest social title (Laietà) is a cost, not a wall. Needing 2–4 existing members to vouch for you (Polo, RCTB) effectively closes the door to a newcomer.
Most private clubs don't publish fees — figures marked estimated come from press / third-party listings and must be confirmed by phone before you rely on them.
Ranked for this family. "Pool ✓" means a year-round / indoor pool you can use for a child's winter swim lessons; "summer" means outdoor, warm-season only — a real downgrade if you want one club for everything. The home 🚶 🚗 column is real walking and free-flow driving time from Carrer de Buscarons 22 (OpenStreetMap routing).

✕ = out of scope for this family (no tennis, or too far). Aspirational rows are excellent clubs that a newcomer realistically can't join without an existing-member network.
The detail behind the ranking — facilities, what's there for a 5-year-old, what the parents get, the honest pros and cons, and a price estimate with its confidence level.
The strongest kids setup of the field: a daily crèche/guardería timed to the adult classes, DL Kids (sport + crafts), children's swim / tennis / pádel coaching, and holiday camps (casal) from age 3. Family changing rooms.
Big modern gym + the widest class menu (HIIT, yoga, cycling, BLAZE), 12+12 courts, two heated pools, luxury spa, clubroom restaurant and coworking. The crèche is the unlock: both adults train at the same time.
Swim school with a dedicated 3–5 group, "Prerraqueta" racquet intro, full kids tennis/pádel academies above, a "Happy Workshop" for ages 5+, holiday camps, and a ludoteca (supervised play, up to age 7). A dedicated small-children's pool with lifeguard.
Best-regarded clay courts in the city, 9 pádel, full gym + studios (Pilates, cycling, functional), a 200 m² spa with city/sea views, and a restaurant. A real upscale family-social scene.
Summer campus and year-round schools for ages 4–12 — tennis, pádel, swimming, water games, crafts, English immersion. A 5-year-old qualifies directly. Trains 300+ competitive juniors, so a real development path.
Full multisport + pool, sauna, fitness, group activities, and a genuine neighbourhood social club — "members of all ages," café/restaurant, lounges.
Age-banded swim school with a "Petits" 2–5 group that fits a 5-year-old exactly, plus kids tennis, multisport schools (basket, judo, climbing), and July summer courses. The indoor pool means lessons don't stop in winter.
Modern gym + group studios, two 25m pools, spa zone, 3 tennis + 6 pádel, panoramic cafeteria. Fully open — sign up online today.
Swim school, tennis & pádel academies, multisport intro (Laiesport), and summer/Christmas camps for ages 4–16. Children's playground on site. Explicit toddler/child membership tiers.
One of the largest clay inventories in Barcelona (15 courts) + 13 pádel, a 3-floor gym, restaurant + terrace, deep heritage-club social life. Members park inside.
Dedicated infant tennis and pádel schools, "Stage Kids Tennis," and a summer racquet campus ("L'Estiu de les Raquetes"). Home of Spain's first tennis academy (1959). Confirm the minimum age for the 5-year-old.
Serious tennis (16 clay) + 10 pádel, gym, covered pavilion, a rich social club with restaurant, physio, sports medicine. One of the most prestigious in the area.
Kids tennis & pádel classes (small groups), and a broad summer campus for ages 3–17 with pool + racquets + games. No dedicated swim school surfaced.
One of the biggest pádel offerings in Barcelona (~19 courts, 5 indoor), 11 clay tennis, a new gym, an active racquet social scene, free parking, mountain setting.
Kids tennis & pádel schools, a well-reviewed summer camp (members get priority), and a separate children's pool. Confirm the minimum age.
Gym + directed classes + personal training, tennis/pádel schools, futsal, and a notably active social side (dominó, bridge). Recently renovated, though upkeep is mixed.
The richest facility set in Barcelona and the highest prestige — and, unusually, fully transparent fees. The child fees once you're in are tiny (age 5: €475 once + €27.55/mo; under-5 free). Best long-term play if you can get in.
Admission needs two current members to sign your application + board approval, and a €35,000 non-refundable adult joining fee (+ €5,500 spouse). For a newcomer with no network, that's effectively a closed door.
The elite tennis institution — and the only aspirational club with a confirmed year-round heated pool (+ summer kids pool), ideal for the child. Mini-tennis school from young ages.
The hardest access of all: you must be endorsed by four members each with 3+ years' seniority and buy a "título social" (share, not public; estimated €40–80k+). Practically closed to a family without an established network.
DiR Diagonal (Ganduxer 25–27, Tres Torres · 🚶 19 / 🚗 5 min): indoor+outdoor pool, kids splash zone, 6 pádel, big gym — but no tennis; Google 3.9 (1,490); ~€60–100/mo. Metropolitan Iradier (Escoles Pies 105, La Bonanova · 🚶 18 / 🚗 4 min): superb adult wellness/spa + heated pools + 2–3 pádel, but no tennis and a 16+ feel — excellent for the parents, weak for a 5-year-old. Worth it only if tennis becomes optional.
RST Pompeia (Montjuïc · 🚶 72 / 🚗 13 min): lovely club, tennis school from age 5, but on the wrong side of the city. Club Tennis Sant Gervasi (despite the name, out toward Collserola/Sant Just — a drive, dated, outdoor pool). Ruled out: DiR Tuset / Campus, Holmes Place (Eixample), CE Mediterrani (Sants — a swim club, no tennis), Duet (no Zona Alta club), "Equilibrium" (a pilates studio, not a club).
